Hosting.com Review: What Changed After the A2 Hosting Rebrand

Hosting.com, formerly A2 Hosting, starts at $1.99 a month on a four-year term with daily backups and free migration. Here is what the Starter, Pro and Max plans include.

If you have read older reviews of A2 Hosting, you are reading about the company now called Hosting.com. The rebrand came with a refreshed plan line-up, NVMe storage across the board and a choice between its own control panel and cPanel. The speed-first reputation carries over; the pricing deserves a closer look.

Hosting.com shared hosting plans

  • Starter: $1.99/mo on a four-year term ($2.99/mo on one year), renewing at $13.99/mo. 15 GB NVMe, 2 vCPU and 2 GB RAM.
  • Pro: $3.79/mo on four years ($4.99/mo on one year), renewing at $19.99/mo. 50 GB NVMe, 4 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, Redis and staging.
  • Max: $7.79/mo on four years ($9.49/mo on one year), renewing at $27.99/mo. 100 GB NVMe, 8 GB RAM, premium SSL and priority support.

Every shared plan lists daily backups, free SSL, malware detection and removal, free managed migration and a free domain. Monthly billing is not discounted, so the low rates require a prepaid term.

What we like

Daily backups and free migration on the entry plan are genuinely useful, and the CPU and memory allocations are clearly stated rather than hidden behind vague limits. Staging on the Pro plan lets you test plugin and theme updates before they reach visitors, which is rare at this price.

What to watch for

The renewal is steep relative to the intro offer: Starter renews at roughly seven times its four-year rate. Website limits also differ between the Hosting.com panel and cPanel versions of some plans, so check which one you are buying.

Who should choose Hosting.com

Hosting.com is a strong option for WordPress owners who want staging and solid resources without moving to managed hosting. The Pro plan is the one we would buy for a business site, and a one-year term is worth considering if you want to reassess before the renewal lands.

How it compares

Against Hostinger, Hosting.com’s Starter plan begins lower and offers daily backups that Hostinger reserves for higher tiers, but it renews higher. Against SiteGround, it offers more storage and similar extras for less at renewal. If you are choosing between the two speed-focused hosts, Hosting.com is the better value over a three- or four-year period, while SiteGround remains the pick if hands-on support is your top priority.

The verdict

Good resources, clear specs and useful extras on every plan. Price the renewal before you commit to four years.
